Bright Arts (HK) Ltd.

History

BRIGHT ARTS was founded in 1975 by two friends, Sunny Shum and Jimmy Wong , who at the time with 15 years of experience between them, decided to take a step forward to pursue their passion. The early work was done by limited staff with only bare hand and naked eyes, which required great attention to details, especially for work featuring delicate water colors and artistic renderings.
Bright Arts’ reputation was reinforced by clients‘ admiration of the staff’s talents and technical skills and its name soon spread to
many top international publishers through words of mouth referrals.

By the late 1980s, BRIGHT ARTS has become the designated repro house for many international publishers to tackle diverse challenges
including art books, photographic books, stock house catalogues, and design awards publications.

In 1993 BRIGHT ARTS relocated its factory operations to the mainland China . This move allowed the company to have greater floor space and supply of a high quality, low-cost labor force that largely improved its cost competitiveness. These savings are directly pressed on its customers. Now it has over 200 employees with more than 50 computers, leading edge scanners and output equipment. The order and efficiency of the factory operations are sustained by the management of several senior Hong Kong managers.

With the best equipment, BRIGHT ARTS works to stay ahead of the fierce competition. To keep up with clients’ requests for new
products from Iris Proofs, Ozalids, and Matchprints to hi and lo-res images for manipulation in QuarkXPress, InDesign, and Photoshop,
the technical people at BRIGHT ARTS are constantly experimenting with new software, hardware, and methods of prepress production
to help clients solve their difficult problems. It takes a strong commitment of resources to stay ahead of the technology in this rapidly
changing environment.

In 1982, BRIGHT ARTS began to use Imago as B.A.’s representative to expand its client base in the US and UK.
